HDD SATA Connector
SATA is a very important part of the motherboard. It communicates with the hard disk and a DVD writer. SATA port has two parts one is data and another is power. in the laptop motherboard, the hard disk runs on 5 volts. On the data port side, there is a seven-pin connector in that 4 pins are used for data transmission and reception and the rest pins are signal ground.
How to fix the hard disk not working?
Firstly, replace the hard disk with another hard disk and check whether the problem is solved or not.
Secondly, check connectors physically whether they are loose or broken. If they are loose or broken then resolve them.
Thirdly, whether 5 volts are coming on the connector or not. If it’s coming and the hard disk is not starting then replace the 4 coupling capacitors in the SATA port.
Fourthly, check 5 volts why not coming on the connector and resolve it. Now 5 volt must be coming.
Finally, if everything fails then replace PCH.
